Facebook msg from Hone Harawira

Geez – what a restart to my political career – booted out for swearing allegiance to Te Tiriti, and wanting to honour the people who make Aotearoa special. Still … they reckon you should start the way you intend to carry on, and I intend to push Te Tiriti as hard as I can as often as I can. Stay tuned everyone. MANA HARD

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE STORY BEHIND THE PLANTING OF THE TREE AT WAITANGI DURING THE SIGNING OF TE TIRITI O WAITANGI? THE HISTORY BEHIND THIS SYMBOL WAS A PROMISE BY OUR TUPUNA THAT QUEEN VICTORIA WILL BE THE FIRST AND LAST RULER OVER THIS LAND. THAT NGAPUHI WILL NEVER SWEAR ALLIGANCE TO ANOTHER WHO FOLLOWS IN HER FOOTSTEPS, HENCE THE PLANTING OF THE TREE. THIS TREE IS TO REMIND US OF THE OATH MADE DURING THAT TIME. IT IS SAD THAT MUCH OF OUR HISTORY IS NOT UNDERSTOOD BY THOSE WHO ARE HORRIFIED BY THE STANCE HONE MADE. HIS ALLIGANCE IS TO THE PEOPLE OF THIS LAND AND THE DOCUMENT SIGNED BY OUR TUPUNA AND QUEEN VICTORIA. THERE IS NOTHING WRITTEN IN THE DOCUMENT THAT OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BRITISH ROYAL FAMILY WOULD CONTINUE TO RULE AND THAT NGAPUHI SHOULD CONTINUE THEIR ALLIGANCE WITH HER DESCENDANTS. PEOPLE OF TAI TOKERAU STAND STRONG AND SUPPORT HONE IN THE BELIEF OF OUR TUPUNA.

    • Larissa says:

Nigger, isn't that the word someone who is ignorant uses to describe a race of people who he/she feels inferior to? That's because his/her vocabulary is very limited owing to the fact that ignorant people went to school very rarely and only to eat lunch which they stole from other children. People (that's if you can call them people) use the word 'gay' in their arguments because they are suffering 'sexual identity crisis'. They're not sure whether they prefer the opposite sex or their own sex. As for KFC's, well Denham you gonna get ever so fat coz you spending too much time in them already. What's yer weight?? 250pounds….

    • Badger says:

Denham, I am a middle class, middle aged, white male. You obviously speak from fear. You have nothing to fear from Maori but the truth. You probably think you are a soldier- I urge you to read about the 28th Maori battalion. Failing that, speak to some of the brothers and sisters serving with the NZDF today. These people have fought and died so the likes of you can continue to spout your s..t and feel superior. Think about it.

    • TANGATAWHENUA says:

OMG Denham, your oviously an ignorant person/mamal, why dont you think you should learn the MAori language, didnt you know its the official language of this country. Ive got lots more to say but FRANKLY you aint worth one more stroke of a key on my comp :P

Hi – I'll be voting Mana in the coming election, because I think Hone Harawira has guts, is prepared to face facts about the economy, and will fight for the people in this country who are doing it hard. I hope Mana does well.
